The City of Frankfort, Kentucky is accepting applications for Firefighter Recruit. The Department is a full service agency providing both fire protection and emergency medical services. The City welcomes applicants with Paramedic or EMT credentials.
Requirements: Must be a High School graduate or equivalent. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire, and less than 50 years of age. Legible copies of high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and birth certificate (issued by the registrar of vital statistics in the state where you were born) MUST be presented with application. Incomplete applications, or those submitted without all documents, will not be accepted and will be returned to the applicant. This process is not for a specific job vacancy. Successful applicants will be placed on a hiring eligibility list that may be utilized as future vacancies are filled.
To be placed on the eligibility list, an applicant must successfully complete all of the following: Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), written test, interviews, drug test, medical exams, background check, psychological and polygraph evaluations.
Applicants who will not be considered for employment and need not apply include those having:
1. Excessive traffic violations or any conviction of a DUI within the past three years. 2. Used marijuana within the past three years or any other illegal drug within the past four years. 3. An unacceptable background or criminal record.

SUMMER JOBS 2012
The City of Frankfort Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites Department is now accepting applications for seasonal employment. These positions include park maintenance workers, lifeguards, basket workers, concession workers, umpires, scorekeepers, tennis workers and volleyball umpires. You must be at least 16 years old (18 years old for maintenance positions) to be eligible for employment. Anyone interested in applying for a position may pick up an application at City Hall, or at Juniper Hill Park, 800 Louisville Road, or click on the "Job Application" on the right-hand side of this page to print one from the City website.
All applications for summer positions should be turned in to the Parks Department at Juniper Hills. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, March 2, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.
Notice to past summer employees – you must submit a new application to be considered for employment for the 2012 season. There will be a limited number of positions available.
